Bedford 2030 envisions a carbon neutral world and aspires to a sustainable community that conserves natural resources for future generations.

Marsh Sanctuary has a diverse mixture of habitat for a variety of types of birds.  We are working with Bedford Audubon to enhance their habitat by providing native food sources and nesting sites for birds.

Bedford Bee Honeybee Service has partnered with the Sanctuary as the home base for a project that is working to improve the quality of local honeybees through a selective breeding program. This is a multi-year project.

The Bedford Garden Club is one of the oldest garden clubs in the nation.  It is committed to protecting native plants and encouraging civic planting and conservation.  They have supported and funded many projects over the years.

A section of the Bedford Riding Lanes trails run through Marsh Sanctuary. Our community has a long history of horse farms and horsemanship. We are honored to share the trails with you.

Over the years, Boy Scouts have completed projects at the Sanctuary to earn their Eagle Scout Merit Badges.  They helped build the Kiosk at the Meadowside Trail Head as well as restore the Amphitheater after Tropical Storm Isaias.

The primary mission of the Mount Kisco Conservation Advisory Council is to advise in the development, management, and protection of the Village of Mount Kisco’s natural resources.

The Rewilding School offers various environmental awareness and educational programs at the Sanctuary for students of all ages.

Rusticus Garden Club was founded to promote the knowledge and love of gardening. Rusticus donated the seed money for the Community Garden and has given grants for native plant restoration and supports us in many ways.

The Watershed Agricultural Council works with farm and forest landowners in the New York City Watershed region to protect water quality on behalf of nine million New York residents. WAC sponsors our Trees4Tribs project.

The Marsh Sanctuary is a 156-acre nature preserve with trails, open space, a community garden, and a commitment to the protection of wildlife.  It is home to the largest freshwater marsh in Westchester County. The Sanctuary is open to the public from dawn to dusk 365 days a year, free of charge. We hope you will bring your friends and family to enjoy a nature walk on our hiking trails or relax in our open meadow.
